The Health Services Union (HSU) NSW/ACT/QLD is committed to supporting the work being done
by our local Indigenous Community Groups and Organisations to enhance the health and wellbeing
of their communities.
The HSU NSW/ACT/QLD established the HSU Indigenous Development Fund to contribute to
the education of Indigenous peoples, assist with the provisions of health services in Indigenous
Communities, and further any other program that benefits Indigenous communities. It is our view that a modern trade union must act socially, not just industrially. We are proud to support our
communities and members through initiatives such as this.
The HSU NSW/ACT/QLD Indigenous Development Fund may grant funding between $2,000.00 and up to $10,000.00 for the implementation of a community-based project. Projects should be completed between March 2023 and June 30, 2023. Applications are invited from community-based organisations working with Indigenous communities in the ACT, NSW and QLD.
The Development Fund may enable projects to develop new and innovative ways to engage and
work with communities in the following priority areas:
- Community development
- Wellbeing programs
- Sporting programs
- Elder programs
- Literacy programs
- Health Initiatives
- Education Initiatives
