Aged Care Single Site Scheme

Given the escalating situation in NSW and Queensland today and the rising numbers of COVID-19 cases in the Northern Beaches area, I wanted to provide you with an update.

Today the Federal Government announced that it will be rolling out its single site scheme on the Northern Beaches.

This scheme is similar to the program that was rolled out in Victoria during their second wave. It is a voluntary scheme that encourages employers to support aged care professionals to work in only one workplace through additional funding.

We are still waiting for details on how this scheme will operate in the Northern Beaches. Once we have confirmed these details, I will send them through to you.

Your safety at work is our number one priority, if you are concerned or feeling pressured at any time please email [E-Mail not displayed].

Finally, I want to reiterate that you are all doing an incredible job. I know that the days ahead will be challenging, and that this is not the end of year break that we had hoped for, but we will be here for you if and when you need support.

A union’s effectiveness and negotiation power depends upon the strength and density of its membership base. Join your work colleagues today by becoming a member of the Health Services Union and help us continue to protect and improve your working life.

In unity,
