Cleaners refuse to work at Sydney COVID unit amid PPE concerns

ABC Radio AM, 16 July 2021

Cleaners at Sydney's Westmead Hospital are refusing to work at a COVID unit following concerns they don't have the proper protective equipment.

The Health Services Union says they're also facing delays in getting masks that properly fit them and have even been told they can't shower at work before going home.

Westmead Hospital spokesperson says it follows strict infection control guidelines and it'll continue to work with staff to address concerns they have about protective equipment.
