ADHSU Control members secure meeting with the Service

ADHSU members working in NSWA control are nearly at breaking point. At the recent member zoom meeting, members agreed that if the Service was not willing to address demands ASAP, they would take the step of holding a ‘stop-work’ to vote on further action.

Workload, pressure, lack of breaks, high rates of attrition – all of these things have gotten worse as issues have been batted back and forth between local and state JCCs. Members have been telling the Service that staff are not coping and their pleas have been ignored.

Despite the Service initially thinking members’ concerns could wait until next week, delegates have secured a meeting later today. This will address the three most pressing issues identified by membership: reinstating the Call Taker Team Leader, DCCOs acting as SCCOs, and turning on recall to duty at all centres. It is of the utmost importance that members’ demands are addressed by Ambulance. Delegates are working hard to ensure this is done before the busy Christmas season.

Control members are advised to stay in contact with their delegates and stay up to date with newsletters. An update will go out following this meeting, including the time for the next member zoom.
