Members from the Environmental Services department at Westmead Hospital have recently contacted the Union about not being allocated or allowed to take an ADO – an Award entitlement for full time workers – in the roster period covering Christmas and New Year.
The Award is very clear on how full time workers should be rostered in each 4-week or 28-day roster period. Each full time worker’s roster should be made up of 19 rostered working days, 8 normal days off, and 1 additional day off (ADO).
On behalf of our members, the HSU has requested Westmead management conduct an audit of the previous three roster periods to ensure any poor rostering practices are corrected and all members receive their full Award entitlements.
