Canberra Health District – Fixed term temporary employment role

Dear Member,

Canberra Health Services has advised the HSU of its proposal to employ a person on a fixed term temporary employment contract, greater than or equal to 12 months, but less than five years, to backfill long term leave in the Allied Health Division.

CHS has an obligation to consult with the principal unions about the need to advertise the position on a temporary fixed term temporary employment arrangement. This includes any re-employment of an employee without a break in service where the total period will be greater than or equal to twelve months.
