Canberra Health Service Bargaining Update

The ACT Government has now progressed the interim agreement proposal to the next stage.

What does this mean for you?

Members still have their right to vote! If a majority vote ‘yes’ to accept the offer, the agreement will be sent to the Fair Work Commission for approval. If a majority vote ‘no’, the HSU will represent members in further negotiations.

The document from the ministry at this link sets out all the proposed dates for access and voting periods for all Public Sector agreements. We have highlighted the agreements our members are likely to fall under.

As this is an interim “Roll Over” agreement, the pay offer remains the same as the previous agreements:

  • 1.35% 1 December 2021
  • 1.35% 1 June 2022

The Government has stated there will only be administrative changes or agreed changes to the agreements, as they have proposed this as a “roll over” agreement. The Union has not yet received a final version of the proposed agreements, but we will advise members if we find changes that raise concerns.

This does not mean bargaining has stopped!

If the current agreements are voted up and implemented, bargaining will recommence as soon as possible. If you have any concerns, please contact your local organiser Mark Jay via email [E-Mail not displayed].
