Last week, we launched our HSU Work Value Case to improve wages across the entire aged care sector. The case will take some time but in the meantime HSU members, like you and your colleagues at Carrington, continue to fight for improvements in wages and conditions through enterprise agreements.
After months of negotiations between Carrington management, fellow members and your HSU Bargaining Representatives, your Carrington Enterprise Agreement ballot is now open. This is your agreement and we encourage everyone to have a say in this important vote.
Carrington are proposing a wage increase of 1.8% this year, followed by 2% in 2021 and 2022. They are also proposing a new classification structure with increased pay points. Make sure you see how the proposals could affect you.
Carrington have also agreed to a number of improvements that the union proposed, including fairer penalty rates, improved leave and better conditions for Community Care members.
Your enterprise agreement protects your wages and conditions at work, so we encourage everyone to read the proposal carefully and cast their vote online at www.myvote.com.au/carrington
If a majority vote ‘yes’ to accept the offer, the agreement will be sent to the Fair Work Commission for approval. If a majority vote ‘no’, the HSU will represent members in further negotiations with management.
