Catering Industries members at Heritage Care win Majority Support!

HSU members at Catering Industries in Heritage Care Botany have had a significant win today, paving the way for a new enterprise agreement.

The Fair Work Commission has confirmed that a majority of Catering Industries employees who work at Heritage Care Botany have indicated their “wish to bargain for an enterprise agreement under the Fair Work Act 2009.”

As the requirement to commence bargaining has now been met, Commissioner Johns has recommended that Catering Industries commence enterprise bargaining at Heritage Care Botany.

This is a great outcome and comes directly from HSU members standing strong together and calling for enterprise bargaining to take place.

The next step is for Catering Industries to issue the ‘Notice of Employee Representational Rights’ (known as the NERR) and then to commence bargaining meetings.

The HSU will represent all HSU members throughout the bargaining process. We will be in touch with members to prepare our union ‘log of claims’ that we will take to bargaining. If your colleagues are not yet HSU members, encourage them to join at today.

The proposed agreement will only apply to Catering Industries employees working at Heritage Care Botany. If Catering Industries employees at other sites wish to commence bargaining, please contact your HSU organiser or the HSU office for assistance.

Congratulations to all HSU members at Heritage Care Botany for this great win.
