City of Sydney responds to HSU calls for health workers parking

The HSU has successfully negotiated with a number of Councils for additional support for HSU members during this pandemic in the form of untimed/unmetered parking in and around hospitals.

The City of Sydney Council has been very supportive of our requests and has doubled parking permits at RPA from 200 to 400. In addition, they have provided free parking at Kings Cross car park. Please see below advice from City of Sydney Councillor, Linda Scott:

St Vincent’s Hospital

  • Hospital staff are to contact St Vincent Hospital Emergency Operations Centre about their travel and transport needs
  • St Vincent’s have advised they are making the hospital parking station available to their staff
  • The City has provided free access to parking at Kings Cross car park to health workers
  • The City has issued 20 permits for hospital only parking

RPA Hospital

  • RPA staff are to contact Sven Nilsson regarding parking and transportation - sven.nilsson@health.nsw.gov.au
  • RPA have advised they are making the hospital parking station available to their staff
  • The City has issued over 200 Emergency Essential Worker Parking Permits
  • The City has dedicated parking on Missenden Road.

Members are advised to please contact their Organiser if they have any questions in relation to this matter.

Take care and stay safe.
