HNELHD transition from HealthShare – leave requests

  • Published August 3, 2022

The HSU has been made aware that the transition of HSAs and Wardspersons from HealthShare to HNELHD is negatively impacting members’ leave requests.

When the transition started, HNELHD made a request to HealthShare that all future leave requests be put on hold for each stage of the transition.

With all the delays associated with issues created by the transition, HNELHD and HealthShare decided to transition all remaining sites at once. Unfortunately the lack of planning around management structures has further delayed the transition.

Members have advised the union their leave requests have been routinely denied, including requests up to a year in advance. This is unacceptable.

We have written to HealthShare and HNELHD to request that the hold on leave be reviewed, and that they begin considering and approving leave requests.
