It has come to our attention that HPC sent a communication to staff implying that the HSU sought to reduce pay so that annual leave loading can be paid. This is false.
The HSU asked for leave loading to be paid on top of and separate to the hourly rate and did not seek a reduction in wages to accommodate annual leave loading.
In yesterday’s meeting, HPC acknowledged that there was a ‘misunderstanding’ around to this issue given that all of the bargaining representatives (including the HSU) informed the company that it was not stated by anyone, at any point, that leave loading should affect the hourly rate.
The HSU is fighting to make sure your wages are as high as possible and you are working in the best conditions achievable in these negotiations.
If you or a colleague is concerned about this or any other issue, please contact your organiser or send an email to email@example.com.
We get better results when we stand together. If you know someone who hasn’t yet joined the HSU, tell them to take the plunge today at www.hsu.asn.au/join or call 1300 478 679.
