Southern IML HSU Update

The HSU is hearing multiple reports that Southern IML is asking staff to sign new contracts or variations to their agreements, due to ‘operational changes’ arising due to the new lab. All changes to your contract must be made by mutual agreement. Additionally, any Individual Flexibility Agreements (EG: waiving your right to overtime) must leave the employee better off overall.
If your manager approaches you and asks you to sign something, the HSU recommends you contact us before you sign anything.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
PPE is crucial to keeping HSU members on the front line of the coronavirus safe. Southern IML has a legal and moral obligation to do everything they can to keep you safe at work. If you notice a lack of PPE at your worksite, or any other potential safety risks, it’s critical that you contact the HSU immediately.
