NNSWLHD Update: HSU push for transparency

  • Published October 29, 2020

The feedback from Northern NSW LHD members following yesterday’s newsletter seeking greater transparency from the District Joint Consultative Committee has been overwhelmingly in support of the HSU.

The NSW Health Policy Directive Industrial Consultative Arrangements in the NSW Health Service, published 13 December 2019, supports the HSU’s call for changes to the DJCC Terms of Reference, as follows:

“While all business conducted by the JCC should be as transparent and accessible as possible, it is recognised that certain commercial in confidence or similar material, may from time to time come before the JCC. In these cases, usual confidentiality arrangements apply.”

On the website where the policy can be found, it states “Compliance with this policy directive is mandatory.”

Before the next DJCC in December, we are seeking feedback from members on our push for transparency. Please take the time to fill out the survey and tell us if you support our push for greater transparency: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/NNSWLHD-JCC.

We can only make strong industrial arguments with strong union membership. If you know someone who isn’t yet a member of the Union, encourage them to join today. New members should join online at www.hsu.asn.au/join or call 1300 478 679.
