Nominate to keep your mates safe at work

By now you should have received a letter in the mail from Southern IML calling for nominations for Health and Safety Representatives (HSR’s). This is the first step in the process of getting safety representatives at Southern IML. Elected HSR’s have the power to enforce safety legislation and keep you and your work mates safe. They are the single most powerful tool available to workers enforcing their own safety at work.

Please click the link HERE for a summary of the nomination process as provided by Southern IML.

If you are interested in becoming an HSR and would like further information, you can contact your HSU Organiser, Roy Poynton on 0409393295 to discuss further.

Once nominations close on the 13th of August, IML will need to hold elections in any workgroup where there are more nominations than HSR spots. ALL workers in the workgroup will receive a ballot and be given the opportunity to vote for candidates who represent members at Southern IML.

Reminder! Make Sure you have provided your current home address to Southern! If you think your address might be out of date, you should contact Southern.

In unity,

Gerard Hayes

Secretary, HSU NSW/ACT/QLD
