As I advised last week, the NSW Legislative Council is conducting an inquiry into health outcomes and access to health and hospital services in rural, regional, and remote New South Wales.
The Health Services Union wants to hear from members who are prepared to share their experiences of working in regional health.
Our submission will concentrate on section G and H of the inquiry’s terms of reference: an examination of the staffing challenges and allocations that exist in rural, regional and remote NSW hospitals and the current strategies and initiatives that NSW Health is undertaking to address them; and the current and future provision of ambulance services in rural, regional and remote NSW.
There are two ways you can make a contribution. If you would like to share your stories and viewpoints directly with an HSU staff member, please click here to advise of suitable contact times Alternatively, you can go here to fill in an online survey. All contributions will be treated in the strictest confidence.
We can only advocate on behalf of members. Talk to your colleagues and encourage them to join the HSU today online at www.hsu.asn.au/join or phone 1300 478 679.
