We need a Royal Commission into the health dollar

We need a Royal Commission into where the health dollar is going. NSW Health receives $33bn in funding. But Junior and Career Medical Officers are struggling in a system that is being pushed to the edge.

While specialist doctors are raking in money, other workers in our hospital system are being left behind.

$33bn is one third of the state budget. There is enough money to go around. There is enough money to fund fair pay rises and adequate staffing levels. There is enough money for a world-class health system. It’s a matter of priorities. And together we can change those priorities.

This weekend we will launch an advertising campaign calling for a Royal Commission to investigate why NSW Health is so badly stressed, and how we can fix it. Look out for a story about this in the Daily Telegraph tomorrow.

These ads will kick off a critical public debate about what is happening with our health dollar and the competing interests for the health dollar. Add your voice to the discussion here.

Together we can rebuild NSW Health.
