Pathology members get a voice at work

Pathology workers at Sullivan Nicolaides in Brisbane have made the first step towards having a union voice in the workplace.

HSU Organiser Melissa Warren held a meeting for members and prospective members to learn more about what Union membership can achieve. The meeting was very well attended, with 6 attendees deciding straight away to join the HSU and give themselves greater leverage at work. Pathology workers have proved just how important they are throughout this pandemic. It’s only fair that they start to stand up for themselves.

Union membership is about standing together and lifting each other up. As union members, our collective strength gives us the chance to demand the changes we want to see in the workplace. Thanks to the pressure exerted by members, the HSU will soon be negotiating a new enterprise agreement with SNP, making a pitch for improved wages and conditions across the board. Well done to the members at Sullivan Nicolaides. You’re well on the way to making a better workplace for everyone.
