ACL: Health and Safety Reps issue two Improvement Notices

Safety is union business and everyone has the right to a safe workplace.

For the past two weeks, Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) representing couriers have been attempting to meet with ACL management about serious work, health and safety concerns. To date no discussion has taken place.

Today, courier HSRs exercised their legal rights and issued ACL management with two Provisional Improvement Notices (PINs) regarding traffic management in the loading dock area, and the allocation of additional work causing undue stress.

What’s next?

ACL management has eight days to either challenge these notices with SafeWork NSW, or implement agreed solutions addressing members’ WHS concerns.

If they fail to respond, these WHS concerns will be referred to SafeWork NSW for further action.

Your safety is vital. ACL management must provide a safe workplace for all employees and your HSRs and union representatives will hold them to account.
