Adventist Enterprise Agreement Withdrawn

Over the last two weeks union members have stood strong to make sure that Adventist Healthcare’s proposed enterprise agreement was not unfairly pushed through the Fair Work Commission.

Union members have come forward with a number of problems about the agreement, including that the voting process was not accessible.

Your union provided many of these facts to the Fair Work Commission and forced Adventist to admit the mistakes it made.

After the Commission heard the facts, Adventist were forced to back down and withdraw their proposed EA. It was clear to everyone that they had failed to follow the most basic processes and had not provided information about the significant mistakes it made until forced to by the HSU.

So where to from here?

The HSU will be in contact with management, fighting for a better deal and making sure the correct processes are followed.

Your Organiser will be on site this coming Monday 4 July from 7am to speak with members about the process moving forward.

Make no mistake, this is a great victory for HSU members. It sends a clear message that you must all be included, and members will not let unfair agreements go through.

If you work with a non-member, this is the time to encourage them to join the HSU. New members can join at www.hsu.asn.au/join or call 1300 478 679.
