Canberra Health Service – consultation on new HP03 roles

Dear Member,

The HSU has received correspondence from Canberra Health Services about a proposal to develop a HPO 3 Paediatric Liaison and Navigation Service (PLaNS) and Adult Liaison and Navigation Service (LaNS) under the Integrated Care Team.

Canberra Health Service previously consulted staff on a similar position for the Primary Care Pilot (PCP). It says the only changes within the duty description are related to the specifics of each of the programs, e.g. Paediatric Cohort and Adults not involved in the Primary Care Pilot.

Canberra Health Service’s PLaNS and LaNS have been established over the past 18 months, the original business case supported RN 2 positions which have been recruited for.  CHS intends to recruit permanently to the RN 2 within PLaNs and would like to embed the lessons learnt from the Primary Care Pilot of the value of multi-classifying the RN2/HP3 role to develop multidisciplinary teams and services.
