CHW: Vote for your bargaining committee representatives!

Five union members from the Sydney Children’s Hospital Westmead have nominated to be on the Award Reform State Bargaining Committee. SCHN Westmead is entitled to three representatives, so you are invited to vote for who you would like as your bargaining representatives. Here are your candidates:

  • Daniel Dimitrov is a Security Officer at Westmead. Daniel’s priorities are pay, superannuation, improved rostering, improved allowances and penalty rates, improved parental leave and family friendly work arrangements.
  • Hari Ghimire is a Porter/Cleaner at Westmead. Hari wants to see protections for employees so they are only required to do one job, and that everyone gets the same pay for the same job.
  • Mildred Cendana is a Hospital Scientist at Westmead. Mildred wants to see fair pay and allowances, and increased pay for workers who have special skills, for example paediatric blood collectors and hospital workers who handle infectious waste disposal.
  • Mitesh Patel is a Senior Operations Assistant at Westmead. Mitesh wants to see improvements to working conditions, fair distribution of workloads, training and professional development opportunities, and flexible working opportunities.
  • Nadia Vigna is an Occupational Therapist at Westmead. Nadia wants to see pay parity, improved career progression opportunities, recognition of skills and experience, and equal access to all conditions for health professionals.

Please submit your vote here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/DNJP75Z. Voting will close at 5pm on Wednesday 20 December.

Bargaining representatives will:

  • Attend state-wide committee meetings to discuss the negotiations and state-wide campaign strategy.
  • Report back to HSU members at their worksite on how negotiations are going.
  • Be able to nominate as one of the 15 members of the state-wide bargaining committee who will form the negotiation team.
