  • Published March 24, 2023

Following the newsletter sent Wednesday this week, the HSU requested more information from HealthShare NSW about their new Texture Modified Products. The below details about puree meal packs and moulded puree items have been provided in response:

Puree meal packs

  • Enhanced recipe only
  • No change in work process for Food Service staff

Moulded puree items

  • Implementation at 18 MPS sites with combi ovens
  • Individual frozen meal components plated and heated in a combi oven
  • Initial pilot at 4 sites in 2021 indicated little to no impact on work process for kitchen staff
  • Very positive feedback from Food Service staff about the improvement in meal experience for their residents
  • Cook fresh sites can opt to continue with current arrangements
  • Sites with significant vacancies advised they can delay implementation
