HSU Dispute with SCHN and NSWHP: State-Wide Paediatric Service

  • Published April 19, 2023

Recently, HSU members made our position clear: if SCHN is going to be integrated into NSW HP then they better be ready for a huge industrial action campaign.

The autonomy and independence of SCHN pathology services is not-negotiable. Unfortunately, management of SCHN and NSW HP have kept integration as one of three remaining options for a state-wide paediatric service.

This week, the HSU placed the current project into dispute because the SCHN and NSW HP have failed to consult with the HSU, rejected HSU members from working groups and kept information from the HSU.

We all want to improve paediatric outcomes in the community, but when consultation is not forthcoming, we cannot trust the process occurring and must speak up.

Management have committed to providing a formal response to the above requests no later than Wednesday April 26, 2023. Keep an eye out for a further update.

The HSU understands that several members have been rejected from sitting on working groups, if this has happened to you, we need to know! There are serious concerns that working groups are being stacked and HSU members intentionally left out.

If you haven’t applied to sit on a working group but would like to, please send through your expression of interest to this email address: [E-Mail not displayed].
