HSU Interpreters Industrial Advisory Committee: Expression of Interest

  • Published May 9, 2023

The Health Employees’ Interpreters’ Award is out of date and not fit for purpose. The HSU is preparing for Award review and negotiations, so now is the time to make a difference to improve your profession and working conditions.

The HSU is starting an Interpreters Industrial Advisory Committee to provide representation for Interpreters. Work will focus on Awards and other key areas of advocacy, to achieve collective professional and industrial outcomes.

This Committee will be member-led and will act as the steering group for the technical Award issues. The Committee will be responsible for:

  • Identifying and developing strategic plans for resolving state-wide issues
  • Improving recognition and representation of Interpreters
  • Identifying priority issues that need to be fixed in the Award
  • Undertaking research and review industrial instruments, frameworks, and policies

How can you get involved?

To join the Committee, simply email your expression of interest to [E-Mail not displayed].

If you’re not a member, now is the time to join. We have a huge opportunity to change your working conditions, but only advocating together can we achieve this change!
