HSU members continue the fight for 6.5%

The NSW government can pretend that 4% is a pay rise, but HSU members are NOT backing down. Last week, at hospitals across the state and on road, members took action. What’s more, it’s working. In the past, HealthShare have struggled to keep track of stop work attendance and have simply paid members for the time. With action now consistently hurting their KPIs, HealthShare are starting to retaliate by docking for the time spent building solidarity and listening to other members.

Big mistake.

Although HealthShare will argue they have the legal right to dock members for time not worked, they fail to realise that behaviour like this will only serve to unite members in anger and shows just how out of touch upper management are.

At the roster roadshows when asked pertinent questions about how hardworking PTOs and nurses were expected to pay the bills, upper management said that, although they would love to, they were unable to raise PTO wages. Well, if they would love to raise wages as they claim, members look forward to seeing them standing by their side, fighting for a pay rise for all. They were missing last time.

Until then, HSU members in PTS will continue to escalate action in unison with their colleagues across health, to ensure the Minns government understands just how angry they are! Make your voice heard on escalating further action here: SURVEY LINK.
