HSU paramedics win historic 29 per cent pay deal

Dear Member,

Today HSU paramedics secured a historic 29 per cent pay rise after standing up to the NSW government and declaring it was high time NSW paramedics stopped being the country’s lowest paid and most injured.

HSU paramedics overwhelmingly accepted the NSW government’s pay offer which came about after thousands made the decision to refuse to renew their professional registration in protest.

For years, NSW Ambulance has experienced an exodus of paramedics because NSW continued to be the lowest paying state.

It’s a timely reminder of why HSU members continue to fight for award reform across the sector. Outdated NSW Health Awards have led to overworked and burned-out health workers, complete with thousands of vacancies across NSW Health thanks to a mass exodus to other states or the private sector.

Today’s victory shows that there is hope when members unite, we win. It’s not an easy path, but solidarity has triumphed.

Do you know someone who isn’t an HSU member? Encourage them to join our Union today and have a say at work. We are always stronger when we stand together.
