NNSWLHD Business & Finance Restructure: HSU members demand proper consultation

Following previous updates, HSU members have now reported that senior managers across NNSWLHD have been undertaking discussions with workers potentially affected by this third phase of the Business & Finance Restructure.

This is unacceptable. Despite continuous calls from union members to form a consultative committee to discuss the proposed changes and their impact on workers, NNSWLD has failed to convene this committee. Instead, management is trying to deny members their right to consultation and transparency by conducting private interviews.

The HSU has called out management on its attempt to bypass the consultative process and the Chief Executive has intervened. As a result, no interviews or discussions will be taking place until genuine consultation has occurred.

NNSWLHD has also advised that the current version of the restructure is now being reviewed again. Your voices have been heard.

HSU members are warned not to participate in any one-on-one discussions with senior management regarding the current restructure until the consultative process has progressed. That includes receiving the revised proposal from NNSWLHD; members meetings to discuss the new proposal; and the formation of a Union-Specific Consultative Committee. Members who receive an invitation from senior management to discuss changes are advised to decline the invitation and contact the HSU immediately.

Congratulations to the members who have stood strong and insisted on their rights.

Do you know someone who isn’t an HSU member? Encourage them to join our Union today and have a say at work. We are always stronger when we stand together.
