In the last year, hundreds of members in Private Pathology sector have completed our survey about the current state of the sector.

Overwhelmingly, 90% of members stated that they feel like the sector doesn’t value or respect their skills, knowledge, or responsibilities. A further 75% of the members surveyed also stated that they would leave the sector within the next 3 years.

Respondents of the survey have described the sector as being overworked, extremely underpaid, understaffed and having poor workplace conditions.

What next:

Over the coming months, HSU members and delegates will be working together to set out our priorities to start building a positive change within the sector. A sector that respects and values its workforce!

What can you do as an HSU member to bring change to the sector:

1. Speak to your colleagues about the need for the sector to value and respect its workforce.
2. Attend and actively participate in Union meetings or online workshops.
3. Encourage your colleagues to join their Union and get involved.

Together we can change the sector for the better, but it will take everyone being involved.
