Some members have reported difficulty in taking their ADOs during the Christmas period. This should not occur. It is an ideal time to take ADOs – especially if they are excessive – as it is a quieter time of year. A memo has recently been sent to all managers reminding them of this.

Another issue has been building during COVID. If you work for an entire year without leave, you are entitled to an additional ADO. This is because you have accrued it by working. This may not even come up in SERA, so it is important to check.
