Social Workers Statewide Zoom Meeting Thursday 23 March

Social workers are battling chronic understaffing, the rising cost of living, and their Awards that do not reflect the value of their work. The wages policy has effectively pushed health professionals pay backwards, stopping the ability to negotiate better awards and conditions for social workers.

Do you want a fairer system and improved way of getting your skills, experience and knowledge recognised and compensated? Get involved in reforming your Allied Health Award.

This Award is out of date. The HSU is working on reforming the current Award, setting up guidelines around grading and personal regrade processes and improving all conditions and salaries for social workers in the public health system.

To ensure the next Award is fit for purpose, the HSU Social Workers’ Committee has been preparing the complete list of award reform issues which will provide a platform for the HSU’s efforts to update the Allied Health Award.

Come to a state-wide meeting to get share feedback on the key issues the committee has identified in the Awards.

The meeting will be held on Thursday 23rd March at 12PM. You can register for the meeting using this link.

This meeting is open to Union members and non-members. This is an opportunity for non-members to understand the importance of being a union member and learn about the crucial work that the HSU Social Workers’ Committee is doing to improve the Awards.

Do you know someone who isn’t an HSU member? Encourage them to join our Union today and have a say at work. We are always stronger when we stand together.

New members can join at www.hsu.asn.au/join or call 1300 478 679.
