Survey on this year's 2.5% pay rise

Thanks to the hard work of HSU PTO members who organised and took strong industrial action in May, Health has revised their insulting offer (1.04%) to 2.5% (the legal maximum under the wages policy) for the 21/22 Award.

HSU PTOs should be proud of the fact that they not only fought to end the pay freeze for themselves, but emboldened other union members to join the fight on the ground. All public servants in NSW are now being offered 2.5% because of the sacrifices and strength of PTOs.

While the remaining 2020 award is being finalised ASAP (and the 0.3% paid to those who have not yet been paid under the Paramedic and Control Centre Officer Award), we now need members to decide if they want to accept the 2.5% this year.

The fight for fair pay isn’t over and will continue (we still need to get rid of the wages policy so that health workers aren’t constrained to 2.5% every year); however, we want to avoid any further unnecessary delays in sorting out this year’s Award.
