UPDATE: HSU win and continued consultation on Kronos and payroll at Calvary Mater Newcastle

Dear Member,

Delegates with support from the HSU met with management from Calvary Mater Newcastle and National last week to begin consultation about Kronos and new payroll arrangements.

Members of the HSU have successfully pushed back against Calvary Newcastle’s plan to require all employees to sign into shifts using finger scans!

Calvary have confirmed at least one alternative option will be available if the system is implemented: sign in by employee ID. Further, any employee who uses the finger scan will have to provide their consent.

During the meeting, several other important issues were raised.

Click through the below link to see the issues that have been raised and formally sent to Calvary for its response:

HSU expects each issue to be properly addressed by Calvary and must continue to consult with your union and take sensible steps to address these serious issues.

HSU delegates, with support from the Public Health team, will again meet with Calvary on 10 January 2024 to further discuss these issues and work on solutions.

If you’d like to get involved reach out to your local organiser Matt Ramsay via [E-Mail not displayed] or 0419553105.

Do you know someone who isn’t an HSU member? Encourage them to join our Union today and have a say at work. We are always stronger when we stand together.  New members can join at www.hsu.asn.au/join or call 1300 478 679.
