Warrigal EA going to vote!

  • Published October 11, 2022

Yesterday Warrigal advised they are taking their enterprise agreement out to a vote.

HSU members have been very clear. We are seeking a minimum 5% pay increase for all employees. With cost of living increases skyrocketing and in recognition of our hard work, a 5% wage increase is fair and justified.

HSU members have also made it clear we cannot support an enterprise agreement that provides divisive pay increases – where some staff get 0.9%, while others get over 10% in the first years.

Therefore, we are encouraging all HSU members to VOTE NO to this agreement.

While we welcome some of the positive changes that have been made to conditions and entitlements, the wage offer is simply not good enough.

You can find a copy of the proposed enterprise agreement at this link. If you have any questions or issues, please contact your HSU Delegate or HSU Organiser.

We will share more information over the coming days. We will also hold a briefing session for HSU members prior to the vote commencing.

Remember, every Warrigal employee will get to vote on the enterprise agreement, but only those staff who vote will be counted. If a majority of votes say ‘Yes’, then the offer will be accepted, but if a majority of votes say ‘No’, then the offer will not be accepted. The offer will not be accepted if a majority vote no.

The bargaining period does not end if staff do not accept Warrigal’s offer. The HSU will continue bargaining with Warrigal and we will keep campaigning for a fair pay offer for all staff.

We encourage everyone have their say and we encourage all HSU members to VOTE NO to this offer.
