The Health Services Union Indigenous Development Fund

Our union is committed to supporting the work being done by local Indigenous community groups and organisations to enhance the health and wellbeing of their communities.

That’s why this year the HSU Launched the Indigenous Development Fund. The HSU Indigenous Development Fund was established to contribute to organisations that enable projects that benefit Indigenous communities. The HSU Indigenous Development Committee may enable projects to develop new and innovative ways to engage and work with communities in the following priority areas:
- Community development

- Wellbeing programs

- Sporting programs

-Elder programs

-Literacy programs

- Health Initiatives

-Education Initiatives.

Grant funding between $2,000 and up to $10,000 for the implementation of a community-based project.  Projects should be completed between January 2021 and June 30, 2021. Applications made to access this fund are assessed by the Indigenous Development Fund Committee which is made up of members from Indigenous backgrounds and our Assistant Secretary, Lynne Russell. This committee has already met several times to discuss priorities and future initiatives.
