ACT Bargaining Update: Another pay offer!

  • Published March 9, 2023

Following union members’ unanimous rejection of the previous pay offer, the Chief Minister’s office presented a revised offer for you to consider. The majority of the pay increases are the same, so if you would like a refresher, please refer to the previous newsletter here.

The changes to the previous offer are:

  • A three-year agreement to expire on 31 March 2026. The previous offer was for a four-year agreement.
  • Increase the level of backdating of the first $1,750 payment from February 2023 previously offered to January 2023.

The ACTPS has also added the following conditions to the offer that weren’t included in the previous offer:

  • An additional superannuation increase of 0.25% from 01 January 2026.
  • Birthing leave will increase from 18 weeks to 24 weeks from 01 January 2023.
  • Superannuation payments for workers on the paid and unpaid portion of Parental Leave types following Birthing Leave will increase from the current 12 months to 24 months with effect from 1 January 2023.
