Bans on hold next week

Message from Gerard Hayes here: https://youtu.be/_hoUvwrepVk

HSU members across the state have been taking action to demand a fair pay rise, salary packaging reform, and updated health Awards.

Now these actions have forced the government to the table.

Yesterday the Government met with the HSU leadership and agreed to have real discussions about conditions for health workers. Another meeting will be held early next week, and the Government have committed to presenting their new proposal.

So, as a show of good faith in these negotiations, the work bans are being suspended.

I will hold statewide members’ meetings on Wednesday 28 June to discuss the Government’s proposal. It is crucial that members attend these meetings and give feedback on any proposals from the Government. The details for these meetings, including times, will be sent early next week.

Your delegates conference will be held on Monday 3 July. At this conference delegates will determine the next steps in the campaign for fair wages and conditions for health workers.
