Bolton Clarke QLD – HSU Log of Claims for Feedback

Bargaining is now underway at Bolton Clarke QLD, with the first bargaining meeting held on Tuesday, 18 July.

Many HSU members have completed our union survey and given feedback to union organisers about the key issues for this round of negotiation. Here is a draft HSU Log of Claims reflecting your top priorities – click here to see the draft.

Currently, HSU members fall under one of the four Enterprise Agreements that will be combined into the new Bolton Clarke QLD Agreement.

This means that HSU members currently have different terms and conditions of employment. This is reflected in our draft Log of Claims, while responding to Bolton Clarke’s initial proposal to ensure all our members will be better off overall under the new Agreement.

A summary of the keys claims includes:

  1. Wage rates to maintain 5% above the Award minimum rates or receive a 5% wage increase, whichever is greater.
  2. Increases to be applied annually for the duration of the Agreement is in operation even after the nominal expiry date;
  3. Classifications who were not passed on the interim 15% wage increase from the Work Value Case to receive an additional wage increase of 15% for the first year of the agreement;
  4. Include an additional clause that reflects the Care Minutes requirements coming into effect 1 October 2023;
  5. Review of the classification structure and pay point progression to promote career development and progression;
  6. Full-time and Part-time employees to trigger overtime when they work in excess of their ordinary hours set out in their employment contract;
  7. Shiftwork penalties to be paid for the entirety of the shift;
  8. 5 weeks of Annual Leave for all employees and an additional week for a shiftworker;
  9. 20 days of Personal/Carer’s Leave for all employees and leave accruals to be displayed on payslips;
  10.  14 weeks paid Primary Carers Leave and 6 weeks paid Partner Leave in addition to government paid leave; and

  11. 5 days paid Union Training Leave (3 Days for HSU Conference and 2 Days for Training) with no limit on the number of delegates who can attend.
