Crookwell Taralga Aged Care Workplace Change

  • Published May 11, 2022

The Health Services Union has received notification from Crookwell Taralga Aged Care that they intend to partner with Uniting NSW/ACT in order to continue providing Aged Care to the Upper Lachlan Shire. The notification states the decision to merge is to ensure CTAC is able to manage the additional costs associated with the Federal Government’s Aged Care Reforms and ‘the large, new administrative and compliance burdens expected of CTAC in the future’.

CTAC have not provided the Union with a timeline for the merger or an expected date of completion, however they have indicated the following with respect to existing staff:

  • Staff will not have to reapply for their jobs;
  • All staff will continue in their current roles; and
  • All employee entitlements will be moved across.

During this process, it is important for members to understand their rights. You have the right to be consulted, which may include one on one meetings to discuss the transition of your employment. Being a union member means there’s always someone by your side every step of the way. If you know of a colleague who is not yet a member of the HSU, please invite them to join so that together we can ensure conditions and rights are protected.

This will be a challenging time, but rest assured your union is here for you. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your Organiser Renee Sheridan on 0408 132 351 or [E-Mail not displayed] (Tuesday-Thursday).
