Government scraps parking plan at Wyong after HSU members fight back

The NSW Government has responded to strong advocacy from HSU members at Wyong Hospital, reversing their decision to charge for car parking.

Members raised significant concerns about the introduction of parking fees, particularly during an ongoing cost-of-living crisis. Health workers are already struggling – they shouldn’t have to pay for the privilege of coming to work.

This result is what happens when HSU members stand together and demand to be heard.

The government has walked away from this unpopular plan, just as the previous government scrapped its privatisation plans in 2017 after Wyong members demonstrated their collective power. There is strength in numbers!
