Government snubs HSU members - stop work meetings coming

VIEW GERARD HAYES’ MESSAGE TO MEMBERS HERE

It’s been one month since the new NSW Government was elected to Parliament – and we’ve seen precisely zero progress on the removal of the wages cap.

The removal of the cap was a promise this Government made to low paid workers. But now they are dragging their feet on this vital issue.

As I told the Sydney Morning Herald today, HSU members don’t have the luxury of putting mortgage payments on hold or paying for groceries at a later date. We demand real action now.

We are showing this government HSU members mean business. Members in HealthShare Patient Transport are already taking action, voting this morning to walk off the job until first day shift tomorrow.

A series of stop work meetings all around the state will follow. Make no mistake – this is a show of force. This government needs to know we are not backing down.

Are you ready to take action? Sign up here to join with HSU members across NSW standing up for what is fair.

If you know someone who isn’t in the union, tell them to get on board and get informed. Members cannot watch from the sidelines. This is the time to get active and raise our voices – together.
