Hawkesbury District Health Service Update

Following the previous newsletter on the transfer of Hawkesbury District Health Service from St John of God to Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD), St John has now provided staff FAQs to the HSU.

You can view the FAQs at this link.

HSU representatives will continue to visit members and provide assistance around the transfer process. Keep an eye out for newsletters and SMS messages to let you know when they’ll be on site.

If you can’t make a meeting in person, you can also send questions to [E-Mail not displayed] using the subject line SJOG Hawkesbury.

The transitional committee requested by the HSU has now been confirmed. The committee will include representatives from the HSU, St John of God and NBMLHD. The first meeting is scheduled for the week commencing 12 February.

Unfortunately the FAQs provided to staff do not clearly spell out all entitlements, including Long Service Leave, Annual Leave, Sick Leave, and Length of Service. Members have raised concerns which will be addressed.

If you know someone who isn’t an HSU member, encourage them to join straight away so they can attend members’ meetings and receive support during this transition process.

New members can join at www.hsu.asn.au/join or call 1300 478 679.
