Health Professionals Formal Briefing on Government Offer

For 2 months HSU members have advocated strongly as a collective to change the health system and make up for 12 years of decay.

On Friday, HSU members received an offer from the government. It is crucial that members carefully consider this offer as a whole package, as you will get a vote on whether it’s acceptable to you.

This week, there will be HSU Allied Health member specific briefings on this whole package offer from Gerard. They will be held over three different times to ensure all Health Professionals have access. Please use the links below to register your attendance:

Friday 14 July at 1pm: REGISTER HERE

The three options to be voted on are:

OPTION 1

  • A flat $3,500 pay increase (for example at $70,000 a year the increase to base pay rate would be $73,500)
  • A 0.5% increase in superannuation.
  • Increase to salary packaging from 50% to 60% backdated to 1 July.
  • Immediate commencement of Award Reform with Health Professional Awards prioritised.

OPTION 2

  • A 4% pay increase.
  • A 0.5% increase in superannuation.
  • Increase to salary packaging from 50% to 60% backdated to 1 July.
  • Immediate commencement of Award Reform with Health Professional Awards prioritised.

OPTION 3

  • Reject offer and commit to escalated industrial action to pursue an improved offer.

The HSU is a democratic Union. This is an opportunity for us to exercise our democracy. Debate is important and so is every member having a vote – please make sure to attend the briefings so you can learn how.

Non-members cannot vote unless they join the HSU – these briefings are open to non-members to understand the offer and take this opportunity to join and have a say.
