Historic aged care pay increases kick in from Friday!

This week many aged care workers will receive their biggest pay rise ever. Join our special members forum tomorrow at 12pm and 6pm – See details below!

From June 30, the rates of pay in the Aged Care Award, the SCHADS Award and the Nurses Award will increase by 15% for direct care workers.

The following day from July 1, the rates of pay in those Awards will increase by a further 5.75% for all workers.

These historic increases are only happening because of HSU members’ incredible work.

HSU members led our Work Value Case, stood up and gave evidence. HSU members secured the Federal Government’s commitment to fully fund the outcome. And HSU members lobbied to ensure the pay rise is fully implemented, not split over multiple years.

This is our win, but we know the job isn’t finished.

HSU members will keep fighting until every aged care worker is properly paid. That means fighting for all aged care classifications to be covered by the Work Value Case increase.

In preparation for this historic pay rise, we will be holding a special HSU members forum tomorrow at 12pm and 6pm to brief you on the implementation of this pay rise.

Members can join online via Zoom at this link or by phone on (02) 8015 6011 and entering meeting ID: 895 4179 9775.

This is an opportunity to hear about the implementation of these pay rises and to ask any questions you may have.
