HNELHD: Proposed emergency short stay unit at Maitland Hospital

Dear Member,

Hunter New England Local Health District (HNELHD) have advised the HSU about a proposed Emergency Short Stay Unit (ESSU) at Maitland Hospital.

The proposed installation follows on from the JHH temporary relocation of in-patients to Maitland Hospital.

The proposed ESSU would improve patient experience and decrease unplanned representations to the ED, according to HNELHD and would lead to an additional 28 hours per week assigned to the wardsperson roles to support the relocation and introduction of ESSU.
