HNELHD: Proposed restructure, Aboriginal Health Unit

The HSU has received correspondence from Hunter New England Local Health District about proposed changes to the Aboriginal Health Unit.

Under the proposal, the clinical and non-clinical services would be combined to create a new coordination model. HNELHD says this is intended to reduce fragmentation and help close the gap in health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

The current model would be redesigned and transitioned into three streams of work. This would mean changes to roles and reporting lines.
