HSU All Aged Care Members' Meeting Next Wednesday

Through the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety, we have all heard the harrowing stories of residents, their families and the workforce who care for them. For many of us, these stories aren’t new. We know that our aged care system is failing our most vulnerable.

We have waited two years to hear the Royal Commission’s recommendations on how we can finally fix our aged care system. This wait is almost over.

Today the Royal Commission handed down its final report to the Federal Government. It is a historic day. Over 10,500 submissions were made, including many from HSU members, all sharing our stories and calling for a better system.

We won’t get to see the final report until next week after the Federal Government releases it. But for many HSU members a few days is nothing compared to the decades of fighting for change.

In preparation for its release, members are invited to a zoom meeting:

This meeting is critical to go over the final report, its recommendations and the next steps in our campaign to change aged care – because we know no matter how strong the final report, we will need to fight to make sure change is made.

If you can’t make the meeting but want to get involved in the campaign, please email [E-Mail not displayed].
