HSU members campaigning for change to new Aged Care Act – read more here

The Federal Government is currently reviewing the Aged Care Act, which will have impacts for all workers across the aged care sector.

HSU members have been advocating for positive changes, that will ensure all workers in the sector are valued and respected, and to close the loopholes that mean some aged care service providers (such as digital platforms and labour hire companies) are not fairly regulated.

This week, the HSU filed our submission on the new Act, as part of the consultation process with government. A copy of our submission is available here.

Next week, HSU Delegates from across the country will be taking our message direct to Parliament, when we meet with key members of the government and the cross bench.

It’s vital that the new Aged Care Act supports, values and respects workers, so that we can deliver the important care that is needed by our residents and clients daily.

Members will be updated following our meetings next week.

If your colleagues are not yet HSU members, encourage them to join the union that is fighting for change across the aged care sector. New members can join online at www.hsu.asn.au/join or by calling 1300 478 679.
