HSU members demand Arcare correct misleading memo

Yesterday HSU members received an inaccurate and offensive email from Arcare management, that totally misrepresented the status of your enterprise agreement negotiations.

Arcare incorrectly stated that “there has been no further contact from the union representatives” and made it seem that the union was somehow delaying the progress of negotiations.

This could not be further from the truth. HSU members have been actively involved in the negotiation since the beginning, and the union will continue to represent members until a new enterprise agreement is made.

Last night, we wrote to Arcare management, demanding an urgent correction of this misleading and inflammatory memo to staff.

There are clear requirements in the Fair Work Act for Arcare and the union to bargain in good faith. Offensive emails such as this are not bargaining in good faith.

If Arcare do not correct the record publicly, we will pursue an urgent bargaining dispute in the Fair Work Commission, to ensure that Arcare are bargaining in good faith with HSU members.

We will keep all union members up to date as things progress.
