HSU Pharmacy Workers Update: EOIs sought from Techs & Assistants

For the first time in over a decade, HSU members are starting negotiations for new Awards, classifications, pay and conditions. Members have campaigned for years to remove the wages cap and enable Health Awards to be brought into the 21st century.

Recently, a membership-wide discussion was held over the structure of Awards into the future. 93% of members endorsed a new structure for Awards which would include one “core conditions” award and five classification Awards. This will change the location of Pharmacy Techs and Assistants in the overall Award structure.

The HSU is seeking expressions of interest from Pharmacy Techs and Assistants to join the Pharmacy Industrial Advisory Committee and have a voice in the development of modern classifications for all Pharmacy workers - from Techs to Pharmacists.

This Committee is comprised of passionate Pharmacists who have endorsed the need for a strong voice for Techs and Assistants in acknowledgment that we must lift each other up and are strongest together.

The Committee meets online monthly at 12:30pm on the third Thursday of each month. Now is the time to have your say on the future of your profession. Please send your expressions of interest to [E-Mail not displayed].
